Sabtronics is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Telecommunications Technician at Sabtronics, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems. **Key Responsibilities**:
**1.** **Installation and Maintenance**: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunication systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

**2.** **Troubleshooting**: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring mínimal downtime and disruption to client services.

**3.** **Quality Assurance**: Adhere to the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

**4.** **Health and Safety**: Prioritize and follow health and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

**Key Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Proven 5+ experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a similar role. Knowledge of telecommunications systems, equipment, and protocols.
- **Outside Plant Installations**: Specializes in the installation of Copper Nodes and Copper Coax cables, both Aerial and Underground.

**-* **Site Map Interpretation:* A comprehensive understanding of site maps, including fiber and coax installations, is essential. This involves interpreting detailed diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to identify key elements such as existing infrastructure, cable routes, termination points, and equipment locations.
- **Equipment Handling**: Utilize expertise in working with Coax Meters, setting up Amps, and Resetting Amps as part of the installation process.
- **Confined Space Work**: Demonstrate proficiency in working in challenging environments such as manholes and confined spaces.
- **Electrical Understanding**: Possess knowledge of AC and DC Power systems to ensure seamless integration with telecommunication installations.
- **Copper/Fiber Optic Placement**: Execute precise Underground and Aerial placements of both Copper and Fiber Optic cables.
- **Strand Placement and Cable Lashing**: Demonstrate skill in Aerial Strand Placement and Aerial Cable Lashing.
- **Bucket Trucks/Vans**: Operate and maintain proficiency in the use of Bucket Trucks and Bucket Vans for elevated installations.

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and mapping software.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Capability to handle the physical aspects of the job, including climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanically inclined and proficient with various hand tools.

**Driver's License and Clean Record**:

- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record.

**Screening Requirements**:

- Successful applicants are required to complete a clear driver's abstract and criminal background screening.

**Work Location: Travel Requirements**:

- Primarily Saskatoon with out-of-town work and travel
- Must be flexible and willing to work out of town on overnight trips, covering various locations across the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Will be required to work out of town (approx. 25% of the time)

**Education**:

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Secondary School for telecommunications technician training or similar is not required but is considered an asset

**Certifications and Assets**:

- Possess or be willing to obtain Aerial Certifications, with a preference for Fall Arrest certification for Aerial work.
- First Aid and CPR Certification considered an asset
- Confined Spaces Training and Certification considered an asset
