**Position Summary**: Would you like to join a scaling in-house legal team at a quickly growing company in the eCommerce space? Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will assist with the day-to-day management of the legal affairs of Pivotree and its subsidiaries and play a key part in building out the legal function with room for upward growth as the team expands. The position is part of a collaborative, team-based approach to corporate legal services. Among other tasks, this role will have a particular emphasis on commercial contracting and building out deal desk processes and procedures.

**Roles & Responsibilities**: - Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of corporate/commercial agreements and related documents, including client (managed and professional services), channel partnership, reseller, vendor, non-disclosure, license, privacy and security and other similar agreements - Developing, drafting, revising, administering, implementing and interpreting the company’s policies, procedures and programs - Assist with Pivotree’s securities compliance requirements - Provide business acumen to the design of long-term contractual arrangements and deal structures - Assist with RFPs and procurement efforts - Work with employees and external counsel on privacy, security, and intellectual property related matters, as may be required from time to time - Assist with providing legal advice regarding privacy compliance requirements in countries where Pivotree does business, and opportunities for improvement of privacy policies - Assist with legal due diligence from a corporate/commercial perspective on prospective acquisition targets and help manage the integration of corporate/commercial systems/processes post acquisition - Support the continuous improvement of legal and business processes to promote efficiency - Assist in providing internal training sessions across different functional areas on legal and compliance issues and updates to relevant legislation and regulations - Assisting with other general legal matters as they arise Key Skills and Competencies: - LL.B./J.D. (required) - Excellent academic credentials - Licensed to practice law in a Canadian province (required) - 5-7 years of law practice, preferably at a top law firm and/or in-house experience - Excellent analytic, legal drafting, oral and written communication skills - Experience in IP, privacy, securities and/or compliance practice an asset - Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams - Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dig into an issue or problem with mínimal supervision - Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) - Highly responsible with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to deadlines - Detail-oriented with high work quality and ethics - Flexible team player - highly adaptable and comfortable with change - Curiosity - you are not content with status quo - you are comfortable in recommending improvements to any and all processes company-wide Pivotree is an equal opportunity employer.
