**Position Summary**

**_ Schedule for this role is casual - able to pick up shifts any day. Kitchen hours are 6am to 6pm_**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Enforce proper sanitation and preparation practices and procedures
- Ensuring the training of volunteers in the preparation, cooking, and safe handling of food
- Support in food preparation for special events (i.e., Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.)
- Assist in the preparation of food in sufficient quantities for serving multiple sites and sending out to other sites
- Model KGM values of Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Grace-led, & Transformation
- Maintain an excellent relationship with all residents, volunteers, and employees wherever possible while being observant of the Policy and Procedures of KGM
- Perform other related duties as required

**Position Requirements**
- Completion of High School Diploma as a minimum
- Verbal and written communication, organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety requirements
- Ability to work well with volunteers and provide direction
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract
- This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).
