About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Vancouver Pizza Kitchen (Kelowna). As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits, as well as operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas to ensure that our kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by serving customers at counters or buffet tables, and ensuring that they have a positive dining experience.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, as well as sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: Will train, but previous experience in a kitchen environment is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the kitchen.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
