The technical animator is the person whose work allows the animator to leverage their skills. In this role, you will use your strong knowledge of rigging and skinning principles to create the structure that animators need to bring characters to life according to design requirements.

The technical animator has the knowledge to create well-thought-of and optimized structures depending on production constraints and has worked with polygonal structures of models to get the best possible deformation.

**In this role, you will**:

- Understand the technical development vision in animation;
- Work withing the technical restraints;
- Create rigs and skinning for models with various degrees of complexity;
- Suggest new tools and best practices;
- Reuse resources wherever possible;
- Maintain strong communication with animators and designers;
- Assess the impact of methods used during production;
- Support animators to optimize the integration and use of animations in engine.

**What we're looking for**:

- Two years’ experience in rigging;
- In-depth knowledge of 3D animation;
- Willingness to explore new software and technical art advances with curiosity;
- Proficiency with Maya animation software;
- Production experience with Unreal or Unity is considered an asset;
- Understanding of AnimGraph systems;
- Experience with motion capture is considered an asset;
- Ability to manage priorities;
- Proficiency in French and English.

**Dans ce rôle, vous devrez**:

- Comprendre la vision du développement technique en animation ;
- Respecter les contraintes techniques ;
- Créer des rigs et effectuer le skinning de modèles de diverses complexités ;
- Proposer de meilleures pratiques suggérer de nouveaux outils ;
- Réutiliser les ressources lorsque possible ;
- Établir une solide communication avec les animateurs et les designers ;
- Évaluer l’impact des méthodes utilisées en production ;
- Assister les animateurs afin d’optimiser l’intégration et l’utilisation des animations dans le moteur.

**Ce que nous recherchons**:

- Deux années d'expérience en rigging ;
- Connaissances approfondies en animation 3D
- Curiosité pour les nouveaux logiciels et les avancées en art technologique ;
- Maitrise du module d’animation du logiciel Maya ;
- Expérience de production avec Unreal ou Unity un atout ;
- Compréhension des systèmes d’_Anim Graph_ ;
- Expérience en capture de mouvement un atout ;
- Capacité à gérer les priorités ;
- Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais.

L’animateur-trice technique permet aux animateurs de pouvoir faire rayonner leur talent. Armé-e d’une bonne connaissance des principes de rigging et de skinning, vous créez la structure permetant à l’animateur de déformer le personnage ou l’objet selon les exigences du design.

Vos connaissances vous permettent de créer des structures réfléchies et optimisées selon les contraintes de production. Vous partagez votre expérience en orientant la structure polygonale des modèles pour obtenir la meilleure déformation possible et vous assurez le suivi auprès des animateurs pour valider la qualité et la pertinence de votre travail.
