**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with animators, character artists, and engineers to create and implement high-quality character rigs and animation systems.
- Develop and maintain character rigging solutions that enable realistic and expressive movement while meeting technical constraints.
- Identify and troubleshoot rigging issues, ensuring characters deform naturally and smoothly during animation.
- Optimize rigs and animation setups for performance, considering real-time and cinematic contexts.
- Work with animation pipelines and tools to streamline the process of integrating animations into the game engine or production pipeline.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and emerging technologies related to technical animation and rigging.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Animation, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Technical Animator, with a portfolio showcasing your rigging skills and animation projects.
- Proficiency in character rigging techniques and tools (Maya, 3ds Max, or equivalent software).
- Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, movement, and physics.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, MEL, etc.) for automation and tool development.
- Familiarity with animation pipelines and integration into game engines or production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical team members.

Bonus Skills:

- Experience with facial rigging and blendshape setups.
- Knowledge of motion capture data cleanup and integration.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity animation systems.
- Basic understanding of shaders and materials as they relate to character animation.
