We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following opportunity in our Toronto office:
CLAIMS SUPPORT SPECIALIST, SPECIALTY INSURANCE SOLUTIONS - TORONTO

The Claims Support Specialist is a critical member of the team, providing operational and administrative support to the Specialty Claims team.

- A logical, process-oriented work style with a passion for excellence and detail orientation.
- Exceptional working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

**Responsibilities**:

- Opening and acknowledging all new claims files.
- Managing claims inboxes.
- Processing and maintaining all claims transactions within the claims system.
- Scanning and document filing in document management system.
- Preparation of draft correspondence and assistance with claim cheque distribution.
- Assisting Claims Counsel in the creation of claims reports and loss runs, and distribution of claims documents for internal and external parties (e.g. lawyers, auditors, reinsurers, brokers).
- Maintaining calendar reminders for critical due dates.
- Providing support to claims counsel in the organization and management of claims files.
- Liaison for specialty claims with underwriting support and accounting group.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum one year's cumulative experience in a professional environment.
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in Business Administration or Legal field preferred.
- Experience in a legal environment or within the insurance industry an asset.
