**Course description**: This course examines the intersections between social inequality and the criminal justice system in Canada and internationally. The course explores how factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and religion influence perceptions of and experiences with crime and criminal justice.

**Estimated course enrolment**: 50 students.

**Estimated TA support**: 90 hours

**Class schedule**: Tuesday and Thursday (6:00pm - 9:00pm)

Sessional Lecturer 2 - $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer 2 Long Term - $10,326.62
Sessional Lecturer 3 - $10,362.76
Sessional Lecturer 3 Long Term - $10,570.02.

**Minimum qualifications**:Master of Science (MSc) in International Human Rights Law, B.C.L./ LL.B.

**Preferred qualifications**: Strong background in international human rights law in the context of law enforcement and People of African descent. Leadership in national initiatives aimed at addressing systemic anti-Black racism in Canada’s criminal justice system and experience in municipal government, particularly in areas relate to policing policy, planning, services, and anti-racism initiatives.

**Description of duties**: The design, preparation and delivery of course content in-class, including teaching lectures or seminars; creation of courseware; the development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; supervising TAs; the marking and grading of student work, and the submission of grades to the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies in accordance with established policies.
