**Fundraising Assistant**:
10 hours per week (up to 520 per year) with the possibility of additional hours
**Job Summary**:
Provides a wide variety of fundraising functions to support the Fundraising Coordinator to achieve the goals of Chilliwack Community Services. Fundraising is driven by the:
- Development of a fundraising strategy under CCS’ Strategic Plan.
- Planning and implementation of various fundraising initiatives.
- Building of strong relationships with the community and the business sector.
The Fundraising Assistant works closely with the Fundraising Coordinator and Board Fundraising Committee.
**Qualifications**:
**_ Education, Training and Experience:_**
- Diploma in Business or Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum (1) year experience in fundraising.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
**_ Job Skills and Abilities:_**
- Significant knowledge of Chilliwack and its business community.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality support with mínimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evening and weekends.
- Ability to remain confidential and discreet.
- Self-motivated, with strong organizations skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
- Event organization experience.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, etc.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with executive level stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization.
- Strong prioritization abilities and flexibility to address emergent requirements.
- Project development and implementation skills.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To report to the Fundraising Coordinator on all matters, directly related to fundraising and promotions for the Agency.
- Under the direction of the Fundraising Coordinator and Executive Director, review and update the fundraising strategic plan.
- To compile and prepare for distribution direct mail request to donors as scheduled. Assists in contacting potential donors.
- To assists in organizing fundraising events with necessary materials and perform designated functions. Prepare SMART goals document for each event.
- To prepare queries and reports to reflect fundraising revenue and donor status, as requested using Agency databases.
- Assist in securing sponsorship by meeting with business owners, promoting programs, and building relationships.
- Assists in procuring and picking up donation items.
- Edit all corporate sponsorship promotional materials.
- Assist with capital campaigns, annual giving campaign, planned giving, and any gaming activities, ensuring compliance with Canada Revenue Agency.
- Assists with all administrative needs of the fundraising program and committee.
- Support the Fundraising Coordinator with assigning duties to volunteers as necessary.
- To provide support for Grant Writing.
- Completes all mandatory learning requirements.
- Performs other relevant duties as required.

- Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Unique - Grid 11 (571) Points
- $27.54
