The Lead may act on the Manager’s behalf in their absence and may be responsible for day-to-day work allocation but is not accountable for the work of the team members. The Lead will be part of the Population Health and Prevention unit that monitors population-level prevention policies, oversees provincial programs, and generates high-quality information and digital tools for reducing risk factors for cancer and other chronic diseases.

Here is what you will be doing:- Lead the design, planning, implementation, and operations of preventive care and chronic disease programs; this includes:
- Planning and executing stakeholder consultations-
- Implementation and operational support for implementation partners/sites-
- Drafting funding agreements-
- Preparing presentations, reports, dashboards, etc. on the plan and progress of the project to different audiences, in a compelling manner-
- Lead literature searches, needs assessments and environmental scans to provide evidence base for initiatives, and undertake horizon scanning to remain abreast of latest evidence/developments in key priority areas- Proactively and independently identify potential opportunities for the Population Health and Prevention unit including collaborating with stakeholders- Works with the Manager to plan objectives, prioritize key activities, assign accountabilities and develops deliverables- Mentor new team members as required- Act as representative for the program to both internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate- Develops and presents materials using excellent written, verbal and graphical communications skills- Develops and deepens relationships with existing internal and external preventive care and chronic disease stakeholders- Provides input and support the Manager in managing projects, e.g., developing project timelines, templates, identifying/monitoring project issues and proposing potential solutions

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Undergraduate degree in a related disciplined (health administration, health informatics, public health, information technology, business administration, or recognized equivalent)- Master’s degree is an asset- 3-6 years of related work experience, ideally in the area of chronic disease prevention/management or another area of population health- Experience leading projects in a multi-stakeholder environment, including developing timelines, identifying risks/mitigation strategies, managing multiple deadlines and accountabilities, etc.- Experience in developing and reporting progress on system-level strategies is an asset

Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of chronic disease prevention/management and population health- Strong knowledge of evidence appraisal, and synthesizing clear and concise recommendations based on a large and complex body of evidence- Knowledge of developing system-level strategies or action plans- Exceptional stakeholder management skills- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate complicated ideas to different audiences- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills- Interest and experience in addressing health equity and social determinants of health- High attention to detail, organization, and time management skills- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook- Highly motivated self-starter, with a desire to make an impact on the health of Ontarians- Team player that contributes to a supportive and positive working environment
