We are currently seeking a **Building Facilities Technician** to join our team on a 10 to 12-month contract with the potential for extension. The position is Ottawa-based with day travel to Brockville and Cornwall.

The Facilities Building Technician will be the primary contact for Eastern Ontario Region Enbridge Gas employees for facility-related work requests. This role involves conducting weekly floor walkthroughs, maintaining records for building visitors, supervising and coordinating contracted repairs, and performing minor project work and contractor management. The Technician will also assist with health, safety, and security elements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting various general and miscellaneous facility-related tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Facility Management**:

- Serve as the contact for Eastern Ontario Region Enbridge Gas employees for facility-related work requests.
- Conduct weekly floor walkthroughs.
- Provide access and maintain records for building visitors, including Enbridge employees and contractors.
- Supervise and coordinate contracted repairs to building equipment, systems, envelope, and grounds (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, construction, landscaping, roofing, painting, and gates) including preventative maintenance work.
- Perform, supervise, and/or coordinate minor project work and contractor management.

**Health, Safety, & Security**:

- Assist with workplace health and safety inspections/compliance.
- Assist with Contractor Safety Orientation and company permit systems (hot works, confined space entry, LOGO, etc.).
- Act as a 1st Aid representative and assist with fire evacuation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relating to fire and building codes, and municipal codes.
- Maintain and support locker and Enshape facilities, including waiver files for clients and equipment maintenance/safety.
- Manage building keys and coordinate the proper disposal/shredding or shipping of off-site confidential company documentation.
- Oversee parking lot management, addressing issues such as overnight/evening vehicle parking and suspicious activity.
- Address Maximo and Service Now, and Access/Chub security-related items daily/weekly.
- Provide interim pest control between monthly Orkin visits.
- Respond to slip/trip hazards, lighting issues, and door/lock malfunctions.
- Assist with environmental mitigation/disposal of hazardous materials within buildings and compounds.
- Coordinate timely garbage, recycling, and compost pick-up and on-call haul away.
- Conduct initial investigations of leaks, unusual smells, noises, and general occupant complaints to determine next steps.

**General & Miscellaneous**:

- Assist with interior design, decorating, picture, plaque, poster placement, and company bulletin boards.
- Source and coordinate office furniture requirements (set-up, storage, assembly, ordering, receiving, shipping, and disposal).
- Deliver printer paper to all business units and manage the disposal of old ribbons/toner.
- Set up board rooms for larger meetings, including minor audio/video assistance.
- Support building tenants (e.g., Christie Lake Kids, Canada Post, cafeteria staff/vendor).
- Provide department coverage to support WPS Analyst when off or at other sites.
- File, store, and access facility-related files, including archived items.
- Oversee general contracting for landscaping, sprinkler systems, perennial planting, foliage maintenance, etc.
- Assist with on-demand sanding/salting and shoveling walkway paths between snow plowing contractor visits.
- Conduct daily oversight of litter, minor repairs, and washroom supplies.
- Monitor cleaning contracts, including periodic window, carpet cleaning, and flooring strip and wax.
- Submit monthly gas meter readings for billing

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in facilities management or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security regulations.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
- Forklift license and experience with contractor management are assets.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 44 per week
