We are seeking a **Transportation Coordinator** to manage daily transportation operations between our three warehouse locations. This role will involve driving a **shunt truck** to move materials between the warehouses, picking up deliveries from suppliers, and ensuring all logistics are efficiently coordinated. This position requires flexibility in terms of hours, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as business needs demand.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Warehouse Transportation**:

- Drive a shunt truck to transport materials and goods between our warehouse locations on a daily basis.
- Ensure all shipments are properly loaded and unloaded according to safety and quality standards.
- Perform necessary checks on the shunt truck to ensure safe and efficient operation before and after use.
- **Supplier Pickup**:

- Pick up materials and products from suppliers as needed, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to the warehouse.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure smooth coordination for pick-up schedules and delivery accuracy.
- **Vehicle Maintenance and Responsibility**:

- Fully responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of the shunt truck, ensuring it is in safe and operational condition at all times.
- Perform routine inspections of the truck (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights) and address any maintenance or repair needs immediately.
- Schedule and manage regular vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire replacements, and other preventative maintenance as required.
- Ensure the truck is clean and in good working order, reporting any issues to management and coordinating necessary repairs.
- **Logistics Coordination**:

- Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to manage and prioritize transportation schedules for all daily activities.
- Ensure timely delivery and transfer of goods to meet operational requirements.
- Track all shipments and transportation-related paperwork (e.g., delivery slips, invoices, etc.).
- **Record Keeping & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including deliveries, pick-ups, and route details.
- Report any issues or delays to the Warehouse Manager and other team members to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- **Safety & Compliance**:

- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while driving the shunt truck.
- Ensure that all materials are transported in compliance with safety and handling guidelines.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs to management.

**Qualifications**:

- **Valid G Driver’s License**: Required.
- At least **three (3) years of experience driving a 20-foot truck** or similar commercial vehicle.
- Prior experience operating a shunt truck is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with the Warehouse Manager, suppliers, and other team members.
- Ability to plan and organize transportation schedules efficiently, ensuring deadlines and delivery times are met.
- Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail, ensuring that all logistics and shipments are accurately documented and tracked.
- Ability to address issues quickly and proactively, including unexpected delays or transportation challenges.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends when needed, to meet business demands.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Prior experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
- Experience working in a food distribution or manufacturing environment.
