We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in our Woodstock, NB office. The Financial Analyst’s focus is to support operating departments with financial and operating budget development, forecasting and reporting. The position will work with the finance team to conduct quantitative analysis to provide business insights to key stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include administering finance data for forecasting purposes and assisting in the creation of system reports and dashboards. The role will also maintain the company’s dealer compensation, administration process. In conjunction with operating departments, the Financial Analyst will develop and measure key financial and operating metrics including but not limited to customers, usage, operating expenses and capital investments.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Liaise with internal departments, developing strong working relationships while gathering and consolidating information on company forecasts including KPIs/metrics used for regular reporting/monitoring/forecasting and for documenting business requirements.
- Develop intimate understanding of Xplornet’s business model. Maintain, update and enhance the business model to ensure accuracy and efficiency for periodic company forecasting.
- Responsible to develop operating reports for operating departments. The frequency of these reports will vary from weekly, monthly and quarterly depending on the KPI/metric being reported. Provide other ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.
- Develop statistical methods and statistical analysis, which gathers and analyzes data to identify trends and/or provide insight into opportunities and threats in the business.
- Understand the complexity of our business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing recommendations for increasing effectiveness of business processes, efficiency and productivity gains, cost avoidance or reduction. Assist with the implementation and measurement of new business processes.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in providing advanced forecasting, utilizing forecasting software, and reporting
- Designation or enrolment in a designation program not necessary but considered an asset
- An understanding of the telecommunications industry, working knowledge of Xplornet internal systems (SAP, Salesforce) an asset
- Excellent financial modeling skills and experience
- Analytical ability with focus on detail, accuracy, complex problem solving and logic capabilities
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, general data manipulation), and Word
- Ability to multi-task and understand competing priorities following through to the completion of projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and convincingly communicate, both written and oral, with both technical and non-technical internal customers
- Successful track record working in team environments with proven ability to influence others
