**JOB SUMMARY**:
Administer and maintain the Tsleil-Waututh Nation Lands Register and assist with the development of policies and guidelines for the operation of the Lands Register. Liaise with clients, members, the public, and the First Nation Land Register (FNLRS) on issues related to land administration. Assist the Manager of Lands in duties related to the Lands Office, including implementation of administrative policies and laws related to land and resource management and other aspects of implementing the TWN Land Code.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Administer and process Land Register documents.
- Liaise with FNLRS, identify problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate TWN Lands Register policies and procedures to TWN members, staff, clients, and the public.
- Conduct initial encumbrance checks and prepare Land Status Reports for survey and development purposes.
- Respond to written and oral inquiries by members, leaseholders, and third parties about the status of their lands and issues related to the granting, alteration, transfer, or alienation of interests in those lands.
- Ensure that the TWN Lands Register filing system and webpage are organized and maintained in accordance with approved practices.
- Assist with community land administration engagement and assist in voting processes (special membership meetings, referendums).
- Attend meetings, training workshops, and conferences as a representative of TWN’s Land Office.
- Gather and maintain demographic and other land statistics and perform statistical analysis.
- Conduct research on land administration issues, development of land and resources-related policies, bylaws, and laws in keeping with the provisions of the Land Code.
- Conduct research on land databases, on the Internet, in written documents, and on maps to determine individual property rights.
- ** **Assist with the drafting of Briefing Notes and Council Resolutions to the Chief and Council.
- Participate as a member of the Lands Office and the Public Works Department team.
- Perform other duties, as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Completion of Grade 12 plus one (1) to two (2) years of post-secondary education in Administration, Lands and Resource Management, Real Estate, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in office administration, preferably in law, land planning or real estate office.
- _ May consider equivalent combination of education and experience._
- Knowledge of land administration, community planning, land use regulatory processes or real estate law. Moreover, willingness to learn.
- Ability to read maps and legal surveys.
- Knowledge of Tsleil-Waututh culture and traditional territory is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a First Nations community and/or organization is preferred.
- Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with TWN members, staff, clients, and government and business organizations.
- Detailed oriented, organized, and punctual.
- Must demonstrate a courteous and professional manner, even in the face of hostile clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond professionally to questions.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines of all records, materials, and communications concerning clients, staff, and TWN.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and collaboratively with teams to efficiently meet deadlines.
- Must be willing to complete the First Nation Land Registry System (FNLRS) training.
- Must be willing to participate in job-related workshops, training, seminars, and conferences to upgrade skills and training as required.
