We are looking for highly motivated, results and values driven educator to join our growing Child Care team.

Nature and Scope

The YMCA of Oakville is the largest not-for-profit Child Care provider in Oakville. We offer high-quality Before and After School programs for children ages 3.8 to 12 years at 40 locations across Oakville and Infant, Toddler and Preschool Child Care programs for children ages 6 weeks to 3.8 years at 10 locations across Oakville.

The support facilitator will provide hands on program support to ensure that all children with complex needs are integrated fully into our child care programs. The support facilitator will play a key role in ensuring that YMCA childcare programs celebrate the uniqueness of each child and allow children to fully participate in character-building, values-based programming.

**Location**: YMCA of Oakville Child Care Centers

**Schedule of Work**: School Year -Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 9:00am and/or 2:30pm to 6:00pm (Hours may vary, depending on school dismissal times) / Part-Time

**Responsibilities**:

- Works in program with center program teams to develop and implement a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities for children ages 4 - 12 years old
- Create warm, welcoming environments and ensure the safety of students enrolled in the program through direct supervision, attendance protocols, and age appropriate programming
- Develops positive relationships with children, parents, peers, volunteers, school personnel and other team members
- Assist with children’s snacks including set up and clean up
- Adhering to all YMCA Policies and Practices, Child Care & Early Years Act
- Consistently role models behaviour that aligns with our YMCA core values

**Requirements**:

- Child and Youth Worker Diploma or Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in age 4- 12 years old
- Experience working with children and their families who have developmental delays, complex needs with a focus on family-centered practices
- Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public
- Strong collaboration and team skills
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of YMCA Playing to Learn and “A Place to Connect” curriculums and other YMCA frameworks (i.e., YMCA Healthy Child Development) (desirable)
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C
- Police Security Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and Immunization Record
- Must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against covid-19 or provide valid proof of exemption on grounds that are protected under the Human Rights code
