Your Role and Responsibilities

**Responsibilities**:
As a API Engineer you’ll be exposed to end-to-end development, across various cloud platforms, with the aim to empower and enable your clients to thrive in the cloud-based business ecosystem.
- Lead / Participate in design sessions and provide technical leadership (including technical

decisions, technology recommendations, defining standards, leading POCs, and mentoring

developers);
- Work with project sponsors during the project planning phase to understand the requirements

to define and design solution that meets the business and technical needs of the client;
- Define the strategy and overall vision for solutions. Provide complete solution designs that

consider cost, performance, scalability, reusability, and extensibility;
- Mentor and develop skills of other members of the team.
- Collaborate with other development and integration team members to ensure Integration

technologies and patterns are properly implemented and maintained;
- Actively be involved in the functional and technical discussion with the client;
- Perform estimations based on industry widely known of project specific methods and tools;
- Create and deliver technical design, solution architecture and perform product integration

(including unit testing, integration and system tests);
- Actively be involved in all the project phases: analysis, design, implementation, test/acceptance.

This role can be performed from Toronto - Ontario.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- API Development language and frameworks, such as Java/Spring Boot (preferred), NodeJS, Python.
- Expertise in the Payments Industry and the design, delivery of payments systems (ACH, Wires, Real Time, Interac, Cheques, Card Payments etc.).
- 6-8 years of experience in technology or related field with relevant experience across financial industry/clients.
- In-depth understanding of architectural patterns of Micro-service architecture.
- hands-on experience with building secure, scalable, performant and highly available APIs
- Understanding of design patterns, optimization, API security and secure coding best practices.
- API Development language and frameworks, such as Java/Spring Boot (preferred), NodeJS, Python.
- Experience building REST API, hands on experience with API gateway such as Apigee.
- Relational database (PostgreSQL, Oracle, for example) and/or document database (MongoDB), Data modelling, data query (SQL,, e.g.) and ETL.
- Integration technology and frameworks such as Apache Camel, Kafka, MQ, JMS and Spring Integration.
- Familiarity with Container concept, architecture, tools and framework, hands on experience preferred.
- Understanding and experience with one commercial cloud solutions such as Azure (preferred), GCP, AWS.
- Knowledge and experience with DevOPS/CICD pipelines and tools such as JIRA, Github, Jenkins, UCD
- Agile methodology such as Scrum, SAFe and Kanban.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prior Consulting experience is a plus.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Devops Experience.
- SCRUM environment exposure.
