New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities**.**

Supported Independent Living (S.I.L.) is one of the many services offered by New Directions. S.I.L. provides independent living supports to people who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues, and who experience barriers to living in the community.

**Job Responsibilities Include** (but are not limited to):

- Manage recruitment, hiring, and training of Community Resource Workers
- Coordinate new employee orientation and ongoing development and planning for staff needs
- Provide regular supervision and performance management of Community Resource Workers
- Develop relationships with individuals; provide support of individual needs
- Administration and documentation
- Oversight of facility operations
- Foster, maintain and model leadership in the service area
- Manage crisis situations, providing support to individuals and staff
- Contribute to agency initiatives, training facilitation and projects
- Participate in the On Call rotation
- Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders in-person and virtually
- Applicants must have a B.S.W./B.A. or related social services education with a minimum of 4 years related experience. Related experience may include some or all of the following: working with individuals who may have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental health issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, people living in poverty, people who are or have been sexually exploited, and individuals in conflict with the law
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience including orientation, training, and performance management
- Experience in providing situational and crisis counselling
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to take independent action, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Mental Health First Aid Training and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) are considered assets

**Salary**: $41,659.00-$58,331.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
