- Please be advised that the scope of this role is pan-regional in nature and therefore, will focus on the particular needs of Ontario Health Northeast and Northwest Regions.

Here is what you will be doing:
- Lead technical analysis of complex health-care system models or approaches and uses tools and methods to assess the impact of initiatives to meet the short
- and long-term needs of the local community-
- Prepare dashboards, scorecards, and or other regular performance monitoring reports for the Senior Leadership Team summarizing performance and highlighting risks for Ontario Health Northeast and Northwest project investments and other initiatives-
- Identify issues with data, takes initiative in working out optimal solutions with appropriate stakeholders to improve accuracy, timeliness, connectivity, and other data issues-
- Create and maintain systems that allow information to be easily searched, retrieved and determine how information should be shared-
- Act as a key member of the health analytics team and provide advanced analytical support, including geographic analysis, with a focus on population health and community planning, primary care, health equity, patient experience, and health service utilization-
- Team oriented environment, collaborate and work with others to conduct in-depth data analysis by independently linking data from multiple data sources-
- Provide advice and input from a data analytics, research, and evaluation perspective to the development of plans and various projects related to the strategic goals of Ontario Health; advice will be based on a clear understanding of health care system and both the value-add and limitations of the data and information available to support decision-making-
- Support various initiatives as a key member of Ontario Health Northeast and Northwest project teams, providing stakeholder engagement and facilitation support, analytics, or project coordination on (but not limited to) business/health system intelligence, quality, and community capacity portfolios-
- Prepare reports and analyses for a variety of audiences, including the Chief Regional Officer and Senior Leadership Team, Ontario Health committees and work groups, patients, the public, health service providers and other stakeholders. Uses skill and knowledge to translate complex technical information into common, understandable language for these highly variable audiences. Ensures analyses include relevant context from other OH teams and stakeholders when appropriate-
- Supports future investment decisions with recommendations regarding funded project performance and through the evaluation of the mix of investments across Ontario Health priority areas-
- Monitors and adjusts work plans to meet work priorities and objectives, and escalates risks and mitigations as they arise-
- Other duties as assignedHere is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Post-secondary or University degree in health informatics, statistics, economics, health administration, epidemiology, business administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience)-
- Formal training and experience in geospatial technology (e.g., ArcGIS) would be considered an asset-
- 4-8 years of analytics experience-
- 2-4 years’ work experience in the public or private sector in a health care sector-
- Extensive experience with tools such as SAS, Access, PowerBI, IntelliHealth, SharePoint, SQL-
- Proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint-
- Exposure to advanced Excel functionality such as macros, PowerPivot and pivot tables-
- Proficiency with geospatial mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS) an asset- Knowledge and Skills- Demonstrated experience in developing data models to support static and ad-hoc reports, analytics and research, dashboards, data mining, trending, creation of key performance indicators-
- Experience in streamlining and automating the collection, extraction, and integration of data and development of reporting products-
- Experience using healthcare and demographic datasets and standards, including CIHI (DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS), and Statistics Canada census-
- Ability to identify and explain the significance of data results and translate to a non-technical audience-
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities-
- Demonstrated understanding of local health issues, priorities, needs and social determinants of health for residents of Northern Ontario-
- Knowledge and adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies and measures to protect data and information sources-
