**About the role**
- The Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS) Canadian Coast Guard Variant (CCGV) program team is one of the Naval Programs teams that spans across Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin)'s main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth), opportunities are available at all sites for supporting AOPS CCGV program activities.Ensuring the technical soundness of the system requirements and design as they relate to the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Ensuring the technical soundness of the Surveillance and Navigation products and its alignment with system requirements and design
- Interaction with the Customer on any aspect related to the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Assessing technical, cost and schedule impacts of change requests that impact or potentially impact the Surveillance and Navigation products and/or aspects associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Updating the system level Technical Data Package (TDP) to reflect changes made by the Surveillance and Navigation products vendors to their product TDPs
- Working with Cross Product Teams (CPTs) including the Subcontracts CPT, and with the Surveillance and Navigation products vendors to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development, delivery, integration and verification of the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) CPT to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development and delivery of E3 documentation associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the System Security CPT to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development and delivery of system security threat risk assessment documentation associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the System Safety CPT to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development and delivery of system safety documentation associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) CPT to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development and delivery of life cycle support and technical publication documentation associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the Training CPT to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development and delivery of training documentation, courseware and services associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products
- Working with the other IPTs to ensure the coherency and integrity of plans that touch multiple IPTs
- Identifying, assessing, prioritizing and resolving technical and non-technical issues associated with the Surveillance and Navigation products

**What you bring to the role**
- Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in systems, software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering or a related Discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Equivalent experience/combined education will be considered
- Experience with Systems, Software, Hardware and Maintenance engineering lifecycles
- Experience with surveillance and navigation systems
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering and non-engineering staff; including the customer and vendor personnel
- Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
- Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
- Have a high learning ability
- Ability to plan, adapt and perform in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.
- Highly effective working in a virtual environment when required
- Good organizational, communication and leadership skills.

**Additional skills desired for the role**
- Must be able to participate in regular and non-regular C&SS related meetings with the Customer; sometimes onsite in Halifax or Ottawa.
- Experience with ship/maritime based surveillance systems and their integration
- Experience with ship/maritime based navigation systems and their integration
- Experience with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
- Experience with information technology infrastructure
- Experience with Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) domain
- Experience related to the regulation of ship/maritime surveillance and navigation (e.g., International Maritime Organization (IMO), Lloyd’s, Transport Canada (TC), Department of Fisheries/CCG)
- Experience with Change Management, Requirements Management, Test and trials, Security, Safety
- Familiarity with of Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) (IBM Rational)
- Familiarity with Agile methods.
