The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) offers crucial services, including child safety, family support, youth justice, mental health, and adoption. The Quality Assurance (QA) branch ensures these services, including those by Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies (ICFS Agencies), meet their goals. Our QA team, consisting of over 60 professionals across the province, uses data to assess and enhance services. We conduct practice reviews, complaints, administrative reviews, foster caregiver reviews, accreditation support, and audits/practice evaluations, all aimed at improving policies, practices, training, and services. **The Role**
As a data management technician, you'll partner closely with the QA team to understand their data needs, offering insights that boost productivity and support smart decision-making. Flexibility will be key, as you'll need to adapt quickly to changing priorities. In your role, you'll create custom tools in SharePoint that simplify workflows, automate tasks, and make data management smoother. Ensuring seamless data transfer between SharePoint and Excel will be essential as you support various business functions. You'll also collaborate both independently and with the team to enhance policies, programs, and services within MCFD and ICFS Agencies. Your efforts will help us stay transparent and accountable by sharing important information publicly.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Certificate or coursework in information management or a related field **and** at least six (6) months of *related experience; **OR**:

- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) **and** at least one (1) year of *related experience; **OR**:

- Evergreen **and** at least two (2) years of *related experience; **OR**:

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Related experience must include each of the following:

- Experience compiling statistical and summary reports.
- Experience managing a database and transferring files between databases.
- Experience monitoring and managing data integrity.
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and Excel with a skillset that includes the following:

- Excel: advanced formula usage (e.g., VLOOKUP), data sorting and filtering, conditional formatting, pivot table creation and manipulation, use of pivot tables to analyze and summarize large datasets.
- SharePoint: creating a SharePoint site, custom lists, site pages
- At least two (2) years of experience managing data between SharePoint and Excel. This experience should demonstrate a strong ability to effectively handle and integrate data across these platforms.

**About this Position**:
This position can be based in any Ministry of Children and Family Development office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
