- The Policy Analyst reports to the Lead, Professional Practice, Nursing and Allied Health and is accountable for identifying and analyzing health systems issues, obtaining policy information from a variety of sources and consulting with a range of stakeholders to support the implementation of a policy management process. These include development and implementation, policy recommendations and an overall policy framework for BC Cancer (BCC) in alignment with the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) Corporate Policy Office.
The Policy Analyst supports development of BC Cancer policy governance and steering committee, establishes policy processes and accountabilities, oversees the process of policy and participates in the development of reports, documents, briefings and surveys. The role provides support to policy authors in response to emerging health system trends and leverages change leadership skills to enable best practices, policy improvement and systems integration across the core program areas of BCC. The Policy Analyst is accountable for the oversite of governance for Clinical Documents, inclusive of policy, procedure, forms and other clinical documents as required. Key partnerships are with managers and directors throughout BCC and PHSA, as well as other members of the Interprofessional Practice and Risk Management Team as well as stakeholders in other health authorities across the Province.

**What you’ll do**
- Develop and maintain the BCC clinical documentation and policy framework tools, processes, education and evaluation processes in alignment with the PHSA Policy Office. Provide advice, guidance, and education regarding BCC and PHSA policy frameworks and processes to support the development of policy projects in alignment with the PHSA Policy Office, BCC policy guidelines and organizational objectives.
- Review existing BCC policies, and provide editorial and content recommendations in order to ensure alignment and consistency across program area and under broader legislation or PHSA policy.
- Work in partnership with the PHSA Corporate Policy Office, sits as a member of the PHSA Policy Working group and guiding implementation of key initiatives (eg. Shop) within and across BCC.
- Assist BCC and its programs and services in the development and implementation of strategies for effectively communicating organizational policies across the program.

**What you bring**
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Five to seven (5-7) years of recent, related health care experience that includes two (2) years experience in a coordinating/project management and systems development role within a complex health system.

Skills and Experience:

- Exceptional business writing, clinical document writing, and editorial abilities.
- Strong technical abilities to create and manage complex document filing, indexing and retrieval systems.
- Strong project management skills, including ability to engage and manage stakeholders in a respectful, tactful and effective manner.
- Effectively utilize creativity to develop, implement and evaluate innovative policy and related materials, taking into consideration the impact on healthcare outcomes.
- Effectively acts as a change agent for the introduction and implementation of innovative and creative ideas, tools, templates and processes.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities.
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient; work well independently.
- Strong language, note taking, and presentation skills.
