**Current Salary Range: $74,555 - $89,497 annually (8XB)**

**General Wage Increase*: $78,527 - $96,608 annually (8XB)**

The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) regulates the province’s liquor, gaming, cannabis, and horse racing industries. We license liquor sales, service and manufacturing; gaming employees, products, events and operations; retail cannabis and horse racing. We strive to serve the public interest by regulating these industries in a respectful, impartial and balanced manner.

The LGCA is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Commercial Services Department, which is part of the Operations Unit. The Supervisor, Commercial Services is part of the organization’s management team and is responsible for supervision of department programs. This position is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Commercial Inspections Department, and the Commercial Licensing Department has been amalgamated as one Commercial Services department. The Supervisor, Commercial Services is a newly created position within the Commercial Services department. Specific duties of this position may change depending on the new structure of the department.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary degree in business, public administration, or management.
- Strong supervisory and time management skills, including the ability to plan, balance and manage competing priorities, manage stress, provide direction and expectations, and maintain high levels of performance through effective performance management practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally, foster collaboration, manage change, motivate and empower staff, and maintain a respectful work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to reduce complex information to fundamental elements, adjust communication to promote understanding, and effectively respond to sensitive issues.
- Attention to detail, with independent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated political acumen, including the ability to communicate decisions, educate others, anticipate impact, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and specialized databases (e.g., the Regulatory Management System (RMS)).

**The following qualifications are desired**:

- Understanding of the LGCA’s regulated industries.
- Experience in legal and court proceedings.
- Proficiency in French.

**Duties**: Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Services, the supervisor provides leadership and direction to department staff and oversees commercial services programs in accordance with The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act. The supervisor is responsible for providing assurance that LGCA commercial gaming, liquor and cannabis activities are conducted honestly, with integrity and in the public interest. The supervisor must keep current with trends and developments in the regulated industries and provide field and program support to the manager. The position regularly interacts with other governmental departments and law enforcement agencies along with various community groups. Field work is required.

- A satisfactory child abuse registry check and vulnerable sector check must be produced and maintained.
- A satisfactory driver’s abstract must be produced and maintained.
- A valid Manitoba’s driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel throughout Manitoba are required.
- Regular office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the requirement to work evening and weekend shifts.
- Must qualify under The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act to be appointed as an inspector.
