We’re a Canadian-owned and BC-based energy company taking steps toward a lower-carbon energy future by providing renewable energy, natural gas and electricity to more than 1.2 million customers.

We’re looking for new talent to join us as we transform BC’s energy future. Our diverse team of more than 2,600 employees is committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong and grow. Join us and let’s work together for a better BC. Position Overview

Joining the Automation group in our Information Systems department, you'll maintain and enhance our robotic process automation (RPA) platform. You’ll work on transformative business projects to help our internal customers optimize and automate their processes. This will be done by providing support and leadership around the design of new software robots, assisting with the development process in an advisory capacity, testing the bots, and sustaining them after they go live.

You relish the thought of working directly with business units to drive the automation revolution, and providing great customer service is your main driver. You’ve demonstrated time and again that you’re quick to take the initiative, and your dedication to getting the job done right the first time means you’re up for any challenge. In year 1, you will:
Undertake training on UIPath and other relevant technologies.
Come up to speed on FortisBC’s technology landscape, learn system architectures and business processes.
Build relationships and trust with stakeholders in the business groups you support.
Work on small RPA implementations and begin providing support for existing automations. In year 2, you will:
Fully own level 1 support for existing automations, providing sustainment and troubleshooting leadership while coordinating issue resolution with affected business units.
Work on larger RPA implementations, leading the design of new bots and change requests to existing bots.
Provide strategic input for longer term improvements, act as an automation champion with business units, and contribute to portfolio planning exercises for automation-based business transformation projects. What it takes:
A bachelor’s degree or diploma of technology in computer science or a related business area from a recognized program, plus at least four years of recent and related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Automation technology certifications (UIPath, Blue Prism, DevOps, Ansible etc) would be an asset.
Experience with SAP (as a user, not a developer) or other ERPs would be an asset.
Experience with process design and business analysis would be an asset.
An excellent collaborator with solid communication skills who works well with others.
A forward-thinker who is solutions-oriented and customer-centric when working with various groups.
An analytical individual with a skill for developing effective and efficient processes.
A deadline-driven mentality with the ability to juggle multiple projects at any given time.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
