**Visitor Services at the Art Gallery of St. Albert**

**Job Type**: Permanent, Full time, On-site (35 hours weekly)

**Location**: Art Gallery of St. Albert, St. Albert, AB

**Workdays**: 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, 9:15 am-5:15 pm, includes occasional evenings or weekend events

**Wage**: $44,153-$48,247 yearly salary, including benefits

The Arts and Heritage Foundation’s Art Gallery of St. Albert has an exciting opportunity for an organized, friendly individual interested in arts and culture.

Visitor Services supports the mission of the Arts and Heritage Foundation - offering exceptional arts and heritage experiences in the community.

**Primary responsibilities include**:

- Welcome visitors to the gallery
- Responding to visitor inquiries and providing information regarding current exhibitions, events, programs and sales at all Arts and Heritage locations
- Supervision of front desk and maintaining a safe and welcoming space for visitors
- Maintain Gallery Shop online inventory, including inputting/updating inventory, photographing new merchandise, adding new products and collections
- Customer service, sales and merchandising
- Monitor, analyze and process online orders and sales inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and security of the Gallery Shop, Art Nook and exhibit spaces
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including tracking and recording statistics, managing databases and administrative files
- Manage janitorial and office supplies, assist with deliveries as well as incoming/outgoing mail

**Secondary responsibilities include**:

- Assist with exhibit installs/strikes, public programs, special events and program registration
- Supervise Rental and Sales Gallery and assist with maintenance of art inventory, inquiries and sales
- Assist artists with drop-off and collection of artworks as directed by exhibit staff
- Supervise and assign tasks for gallery volunteers as necessary
- Attend regular staff meetings and community group meetings as required
- Assist with occasional social media marketing and planning
- Education or interest in visual arts, visitor services, retail/admin services, tourism or arts and culture management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer and software skills with a willingness to learn new programs and a background working with Microsoft Office
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy in dealing with inventory and cash sales
- Fundamental administrative skills and experience maintaining databases and inputting data
- Excellent customer service skills, friendly and approachable
- Trustworthy, reliable and dependable team player
- Proactive, flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment
- Understanding of local, provincial, traditional and contemporary art
- Customer service and/or retail experience
- Experience with merchandising and product photography
- Experience with Shopify POS or equivalent web-based sales systems is an asset
- Language skills in French, Cree and/or Michif are assets
- Physical ability to move merchandise, install artwork
- First Aid and CPR certificate
- ProServe Liquor Training Certificate
