Duties

Have you ever wanted to work at the lake for the summer? Do you have a passion for the outdoors? Do you enjoy working with the public? Are you someone that likes to work in a fast paced, team oriented, problem solving environment? If so, then this might be the job for you

We are looking to hire outgoing, responsible, team focused Visitor Services Attendants to work at the Park Entry Gates, Campgrounds kiosks, the Visitor Information Centre and the Nature Centre in Waskesiu Lake, Prince Albert National Park.

Working as part of the Visitor Services Attendant team, you will be responsible to welcome visitors into the park and provide visitor services and revenue collection at the various locations. This includes providing comprehensive information to the visiting public on a wide variety of topics including but not limited to: entry fees and permits, camping, trails, outdoor recreation, points of interest, safety, backcountry travel and park regulations and policies.

Work environment

Prince Albert National Park is in Treaty 6 territory, in a region of Saskatchewan many dont picture when they think of this province: the heart of the northern boreal forest. An hours drive north of the city of Prince Albert, or hours from Saskatoon, it is a land of lakes surrounded by conifer and aspen trees. The town site of Waskesiu Lake is a small collection of residences and businesses on the shore of a sandy beach and a lake that stretches off into the horizon. Elk are a common sight in town. Coyotes and wolves can be heard howling at night. Many people come to camp for a few days or a few weeks at a time, in one of the front country campgrounds, or escaping into the backcountry on foot or in canoes to more remote campsites. Many visitors have been coming to the park for generations, drawn back year after year like migrating birds. Visitation is busiest in the summer months, with significant visitation in the spring and fall too.
