Duties

Provide information and revenue collection at visitor centres.
Respond to visitor needs.
Regularly clean and provide minor maintenance to washroom buildings and other facilities.

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canadas outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Education:
A high school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in the field related to the position.

Experience:
EX1: Experience in providing information and service to the public, including complaint resolution.

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of regional tourism offers

Abilities:

Asset Experience:
AE1: Experience in data entry of statistical information

Operational Requirements:
Be exposed to variable weather conditions
Be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable visitor demands and requirements
Must provide own transportation to and from the workplace

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
Willingness to use safe work practices (training and terms of use provided)
Willingness to work irregular hours, shift work, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required
Possession of a valid class 5 Drivers License
Willingness to obtain First Aid Certification
