**About us**

We are Rogue Factor, a medium-sized video game developer based in Montreal, Canada. Our team is currently working on a brand new and ambitious IP, _**Hell is Us**_, created in Unreal Engine 5 with support from our European parent company, Nacon.

**Job description**

We are looking for a full-time UI Programmer who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing the various UI systems and screens of our new third-person action-adventure title.

**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the UI/UX lead, UI artist, and various stakeholders to develop UI systems and features, as well as their implementation within Unreal Engine, in accordance with the creative direction, artistic vision and technical constraints of the project.
- Develop UI systems that support the functionality, stability, and robustness of the game by programming in a methodical and structured manner, following best practices.
- Communicate effectively to facilitate team cohesion as well as the interdepartmental and multidisciplinary work inherent in game development.
- Take part in the design and implementation of User Interfaces, from text displays, HUDs, game elements, and menus.
- Participate in additional duties, which may include assisting with R&D, quality control, and any other activities necessary to the project’s timely delivery and success.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma in a relevant academic field and relevant professional experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with C++, including experience with UI programming.
- Relevant experience as a UI Programmer on at least one full commercial project in the video game industry.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Problem-solving attitude with good analytical and synthesis skills.
- Ability to demonstrate independence and resourcefulness.

**Bonus points**
- Strong conceptual and technical skills in both object-oriented programming and data-oriented design.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, and mindful of the user experience.
- Familiarity with the Entity Component Systems (ECS) design pattern.
- Experience in shipping more than one successful AA/AAA titles for consoles and PC, while occupying a UI Programmer role over entire development cycles.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira.
- Experience working with market-leading game consoles (PlayStation / Xbox), including dealing with platform-specific compliance issues.

**Description d’emploi**

Nous recherchons un.e Programmeur.euse UI à temps plein, qui sera responsable du développement, de la mise en œuvre et de l'optimisation des différents systèmes et écrans de l'interface utilisateur de notre nouveau titre d'action-aventure à la troisième personne.

**Responsabilités**
- Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le chef UI/UX, l'artiste UI et diverses parties prenantes pour développer des systèmes et des fonctionnalités UI, ainsi que leur mise en œuvre dans Unreal Engine, conformément à la direction créative, à la vision artistique et aux contraintes techniques du projet.
- Développer des systèmes UI qui soutiennent la fonctionnalité, la stabilité et la robustesse du jeu en programmant de manière méthodique et structurée, en suivant les meilleures pratiques.
- Communiquer efficacement pour faciliter la cohésion de l'équipe ainsi que le travail interdépartemental et multidisciplinaire inhérent au développement de jeux.
- Participer à la conception et à la mise en œuvre des interfaces utilisateur, qu'il s'agisse d'affichages textuels, de HUD, d'éléments de jeu ou de menus.
- Participer à des tâches supplémentaires, qui peuvent inclure l'aide à la R&D, au contrôle de la qualité et à toute autre activité nécessaire à la livraison et au succès du projet dans les délais impartis.

**Exigences**
- Diplôme académique et/ou expérience professionnelle dans un domaine pertinent.
- Avoir au minimum 2 ans d'expérience en C++, y compris une expérience en programmation d’interface.
- Expérience pertinente en tant que Programmeur.euse UI au cours d'un moins un projet commercial complet dans l'industrie du jeu vidéo.
