The Fraser Basin Council Society (FBC) is a non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability throughout BC. We are seeking a full-time Program Lead, Climate Resilience to join our Climate Change team. The Program Lead will help advance FBC’s sustainability vision - _social well-being supported by a vibrant economy and sustained by a healthy environment _- in a manner consistent with the FBC Charter for Sustainability and will help implement the FBC Strategic Plan. The Program Lead position is based in our Vancouver office and delivers services through a hybrid working arrangement (home and office).

**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Program Manager, Climate Change, the Program Lead has these primary functions:

- Manage the implementation of BC-wide initiatives related to climate change adaptation and resilience
- Support communities in BC in the learning, planning and implementation of climate resilience
- Support engagement and research initiatives focusing on climate resilience and
- Supervise contractors

There may be changes in job functions, such as supporting other climate change initiatives, that occur over time due to changes in workload.

**Essential Job Functions and Duties**
- Manage the delivery of FBC’s climate resilience programs by:

- Designing, promoting and facilitating collaborative meetings, workshops, webinars and other events
- Incorporating Indigenous reconciliation within climate resilience initiatives
- Facilitating connections and collaboration among organizations and interests that are pursuing common adaptation-related goals in communities and regions
- Providing support for qualitative and quantitative research on community needs
- Developing project plans, identifying potential project risks, and ensuring projects and services are delivered on time and on budget, in collaboration with the Program Manager
- Providing timely reports both internally and to funders
- Liaise with communities and professionals and provide mentorship on climate resilience planning and implementation by:

- Supporting adaptation planning, including the compilation of climate resilience tools and learning resources
- Assisting in the identification of funding and resource programs for planning and implementation
- Supporting peer learning opportunities between communities to share experience and knowledge
- Maintain and develop new relationships and partnerships with external organizations relevant to climate resilience
- Raise awareness of FBC and its mandate and activities among key target audiences

**Finance/Human Resources Functions**
- Identify and develop project and service delivery opportunities; confirm funding needs and identify potential funding sources; participate in or lead the preparation and submission of funding proposals
- Supervise project/support staff, contractors and volunteers as appropriate, which includes:

- Preparing Requests for Proposals and contracts
- Coordinating reviews of bids and proposals
- Facilitating project/program team meetings to track progress
- Ensuring that deliverables are achieved on schedule and within budget

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- A minimum of three years of experience in the following:

- developing, planning and coordinating sustainability-related projects
- leading or supporting multi-interest collaborative processes
- seeking funding opportunities and developing proposals and
- developing and facilitating workshops and meetings for participants of diverse backgrounds
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in a related field such as planning, policy, business, sustainability or environmental management
- Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Familiarity with climate, resiliency, energy and sustainability issues and opportunities
- Good relationships with key private, public and civil society interests in BC

**Specific skills include**:

- Excellent writing abilities and well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills, including public speaking
- Tact, diplomacy and comfort serving as an impartial facilitator
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to supervise and mentor other staff
- Project and financial management
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite, presentation tools, contact managers, internet and social media)
- Critical thinking, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to communities throughout BC
