**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Medical Device Reprocessing Management Team, the Working Leader / Clinical Assistant is responsible for the set-up of all new instrument sets and making any changes to current set ups. The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Surgery Unit Managers, Team Leaders, Operational Working Leaders, other Clinical Assistants, Educators and MDRD Supervisors, ensuring that all Operating Room requirements are met in addition to solving issues and helping to troubleshoot on behalf of the Surgical Team. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for the after-hours activities of all services; by assessing and evaluating operating room needs, making clinical decisions, deal with vendors, receiving/retuning loaner equipment, working closely with CPSM to maintain sets containing implants including accurate ordering and replacement for all required sets. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining accurate information system data, related to instrument inventory, and also making any relevant changes to pre-existing data. Initiate new inventory information into SPM along with any updates to recipes including, reviewing all manufacturer’s instructions while ensuring that all reprocessing instructions provided are in accordance with CSA Standards as well as clear and precise photographic images of the same. The ability to pay particular attention to detail is a must in preforming all duties.

**Description**:
As a Working Leader, you will orientate, support, and continuously coach Surgical Processors. This may include setting priorities according to shift and daily requirements within the department while ensuring policies/procedures and standards are adhered to. You will act as a formal resource to department staff and may act as a delegate for management on operational issues. As a Working Leader, you may assist the management team by providing input for yearly performance evaluations of surgical processing staff.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Completion of International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM certification or Central Service Association (CSA) certification. Qualification from a recognized sterile processing course is required, as well as a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in a Medical Device Reprocessing Department. Knowledge and experience with the WHMIS Program is also required. The successful applicant will be required to have extensive knowledge of all instrumentation and relevant set ups. In this particular portfolio, expertise in the following services is required: Pediatrics, General and Urology. Advanced Windows based systems and SPM computer skills are required. Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently. Due to the nature of the duties, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to provide education on the latest equipment received and any updates on existing equipment within the MDRD and be able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment that has shifting daily priorities.
