**Position Description**
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of NBDS shall oversee the delivery of culturally safe, trauma informed, clinical case management to thirteen (13) First Nation communities in the Treaty #3 territory. This position includes administering all aspects of the programs and services as determined by funders, communities and the Strategic Plan and policies and procedures of KCA. The Director will work within the senior management team at Kenora Chiefs Advisory to deliver and continually enhance services offered to our Communities. Location: 240 Veterans Drive, 3rd Floor, Kenora, Ontario
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Staffing**
Ø Direct supervision of NBDS Managers including ongoing coaching, developing, managing, mentoring, leading and evaluating performance
Ø Ensure timely and effective recruitment and selection of staff, supporting management as needed
Ø Monitor and support professional development for Managers and staff
Ø Support managers in staff assignment and distribution to best meet the needs of all communities served
Ø Provide guidance and direction to Mangers with respect to complex client matters
**Liaison/Partnerships**
Ø Build and maintain strong working relationships with community leaders and stakeholders, and with partnering organizations
Ø Develop and maintain an awareness of the needs of each community
Ø Work and meet with funders
**Clinical Services (direct and indirect)**
Ø Ensure effective clinical standards and procedures for clinical recordings, file management and file safety
Ø Ensure bi-cultural best practices are delivered by staff
Ø Set the parameters for best practice in the delivery of services
Ø Monitor service quality to clients and make changes as necessary
Ø Provide clinical supervision to staff when required
**Monitoring, Research and Evaluation**
Ø Ensure strong processes for data collection as required by communities and/or funders
Ø Develop and maintain program planning and evaluation processes
Ø Collect and monitor service delivery data to support clinical and staffing decisions
**Budget**
Ø Monitor the expenditure of the budgets in conjunction with the Director of Finance
Ø Ensure all reports and data collected are accurate and submitted in a timely manner, as per funding agreement
Ø Seek and advocate for additional funding as necessary
**Qualifications**:
Ø Experience in managing and leading staff
Ø Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well with others
Ø Experience and strengths in leading a multidisciplinary team
Ø Experience and familiarity working in First Nations communities
Ø Experience in working with children and youth, and families
Ø Experience working with and knowledge of Indian Residential School Survivors
Ø Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language and experience in working in First Nation communities
**Education**:
Ø Post secondary education in human sciences field
Ø Eligible for membership (with professional designation)
**Position Requirements**:
Ø Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Ø Willing to travel (when required) to all Treaty #3 First Nation communities
Ø Current satisfactory criminal reference check with vulnerable sector search
Ø Understanding of the language of the Anishinaabe language (Ojibway) is an asset
