Job Title: Line Cook

**Overview**:
As a Hoagie Boy Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen, responsible for preparing and assembling a variety of delicious sandwiches and related menu items. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and consistency of the food, adhering to food safety standards, and contributing to a positive kitchen environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Food Preparation**:

- Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and condiments, to be used in sandwich assembly.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and meet quality standards.

2. **Sandwich Assembly**:

- Assemble sandwiches according to established recipes, paying attention to layering, proportions, and presentation.
- Customize orders based on customer preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a fast and efficient pace during peak hours to meet customer demand.

3. **Food Safety and Hygiene**:

- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of the customers.
- Monitor and record food temperatures to guarantee that all food items meet regulatory standards.
- Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized throughout the shift.

4. **Team Collaboration**:

- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and timely service with a focus on efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to manage order flow and customer expectations.
- Being able to greet guests and make them feel warm and welcome.

5. **Quality Control**:

- Inspect the quality of ingredients and finished products to maintain high standards.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the kitchen manager or supervisor.

6. **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and slicers.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to management for prompt repair or replacement.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a line cook or prep cook, preferably in a sandwich or fast-casual setting.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.

**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary school or relevant certification is a plus.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.50-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
