Newmarket, Canada The Salvation Army Full time

This position is a one-year contract for the development of the Causeway Initiative. The Causeway Initiative offers meaningful volunteer opportunities to community members and quality program support to clients. Causeway Initiative Volunteers conduct home visits to women who have moved into the community from Belinda’s Place to offer support and community connections. The Program Coordinator and Facilitator is responsible to design and implement this friendly visitor program. The Program Coordinator and Facilitator is also responsible for the instructional design of a self-sustaining digital training and education program for prospective volunteers who will be providing home visits to previous residents of Belinda’s Place. Lastly the Program Coordinator and Facilitator is responsible to recruit and train the first round of program volunteers.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Supervisory**
- Recruitment, training and onboarding of program volunteers
- Maintain program volunteers list
- Provide job specific orientation, training and scheduling program volunteers in accordance with government contracts and core standards
- Supervise all programming for Causeway Initiative clients, reporting to the Manager, Housing Retention Programs, and in collaboration with other supervisory team members where relevant
- Coach and mentor program volunteers, developing plans to work towards engagement in home visits, offering on-call support and support for special projects
- Monitor and ensure program volunteers practices are in compliance with Policies, Procedure, Operating Principles and Core Standards
- Participate in the provision of the Case Management Plan including support and other direct services to clients of the program
- Establish and maintain proper records, logs and incident reports to ensure the smooth operation of the program
- Ensure that all computer records, reports, logbook entries, and other administrative tasks are done accurately and consistently as per the personal information protection and electronic documents act
- Complete complex reporting, statistical evaluation, and oversee program budget, reporting to Manager on outcomes & funder requirements, attend funding-related events & share program outcomes
- Provide statistics and monthly reports to Program Services Director
- Ensure the Program Director is kept informed of all incidents, observations and infractions occurring in the program and that the information is properly documented and passed on to the appropriate staff

**Program**
- Design a virtual education and training program for prospective program volunteers
- Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans and group sessions, on topics such as advanced mental wellness, addictions, recovery and rehabilitation, utilizing best practice evidence-based models, including housing-based case management and accompaniment and follow up procedures
- Development of administrative frameworks and best practices for program delivery, including new and innovative approaches to digital programming, hard target strategies, teaching to learning styles & using creative multi-modal approaches
- Utilize knowledge of issues pertaining to ADL’s, Person-Environment-Occupation Model, occupational therapy, human trafficking & exploitation, rehabilitation, immigration, de-colonizing praxis, fine arts, lived experience inclusion, domestic violence/abuse, mental health, addictions, homelessness, employment, education, racial justice & equity, financial inclusion, and internal policies and procedures to develop program materials and partnerships
- Implement existing courses and programming, build community relationships and coordinate with community partners in service delivery
- Delegate & coordinate completion of tasks to Program Volunteers as per their role descriptions, provide accountability & performance evaluation on an ongoing basis, including oversight of lived experience placements
- Oversee financial resources of the department, including petty cash, expense reconciliations, and any other resources determined for program delivery
- Ensure the implementation of the Causeway Initiative Model as it relates to development, activities, and education, including case notes, activity reports, therapeutic approaches & intervention
- Seek community donations and in-kind support for programming, develop relationships with external stakeholders, participate in community-based events & represent organization as per Director’s request
- Complete ongoing facilitation training related to volunteer training, programming, and therapeutic approaches as required, provide training to other team members
- Ensure that program procedures are maintained, develop relevant policies and present to Management, learning guides, and facilitator materials where required
- Test-run programming and utilize adult learning techniques to refine project concepts, materials, and delivery
