**About Us**:
The Land Use Secretariat (LUS) supports Albertans by leading the development, review and implementation of integrated land use plans, regional plans and land stewardship tools under the Alberta Land Stewardship Act (ALSA), to manage our province's land and natural resources to achieve Alberta’s long-term economic, environmental and social goals and ensure that legislative requirements are met.
The Integrated Resource Management System (IRMS) Secretariat supports Alberta’s approach to integrated resource management. The IRM system delivers responsible resource stewardship by identifying and coordinating work to provide the environmental, economic and social outcomes expected from resource development. Key participants in the system include the departments of Agriculture and Irrigation, Energy, Environment and Protected Areas, Forestry Parks and Tourism and Indigenous Relations as well as the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) with other departments involved as required. The IRMS Secretariat is accountable to a committee of Deputy Ministers and the Chief Executive Officer of these organizations, and also supports integration through cross-ministry tables at the ADM and Executive Director levels across ministries.

The Land Use Secretariat and IRMS Secretariat Branch is seeking an engaging, collaborative and team-oriented individual who has knowledge and experience fostering relationships and engaging a diverse range of parties to support the work of these two cross-ministry secretariats.
Reporting to the Director of Governance and Reporting as a resource to both secretariats, the Systems Coordinator works with other members of the Governance and Reporting team to support: Land Use Framework and IRM System executive governance tables; identification of cross-ministry common priorities; project coordination and research; and e-scanning and foresight activities.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supporting the team and members in providing secretariat support for executive governance tables including the planning and execution of meetings and forward agenda planning. Tables meet weekly to monthly.
- Organizing meetings including coordinating calendars, booking facilities and equipment, as well as coordinating any necessary hosting.
- Attending Land Use and IRM System governance table meetings to support effective meetings and prepare records of discussion as needed.
- Providing support to the branch, working groups, project teams, governance tables and others through development of system graphics/diagrams, presentations and other relevant communication materials that support discussions and decision-making.
- Tracking and communicating actions and with relevant groups to ensure effective and timely responses to identified issues and integration problems and to deliver forward agenda as needed.
- Managing and maintaining records for all governance tables and assisting in the management of other branch information.
- Supporting development of processes, procedures and tools to support Land Use Framework and IRMS mandates in identification, tracking implementation and reporting of common cross-ministry priorities. This includes annual planning and regular tracking, review and updates.
- Supporting environmental scanning and foresight activities to identify trends, issues and emerging opportunities that relate to land use and integrated resource management including dissemination of information across land use and IRM system organizations. This would include research support including compilation of literature, database management and minor data analysis.
- Drafting memos and briefing notes. Tracking, coordinating and communicating the status of Government of Alberta’s inter-ministry reviews of Responsible Energy Development Act section 22 requests.
- Supporting the branch staff and others as needed in developing, implementing and enhancing appropriate information management as well as other branch systems and processes to support effective operations.

- Post-secondary degree in business, political science, communications, natural resource management or other related field
**Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of**:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
