**GENERAL FUNCTION**:
The Financial Services department ensures that all accounting functions for our association are completed accurately and in a timely manner. That includes the full cycle of accounting and all related processes. This role will be responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of specific programs and special projects for the association and will support other financial services functions as required.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the role is responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting for government programs, child care and association wide projects. Accuracy and timeliness are critical as the majority of the reporting will be reported externally and will undergo regular audits. This role will also support the regular tasks of the Finance department and will have an association wide impact.

**DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS**:
The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Demonstrate strong support and commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in Canada.
- Demonstrate strong support and commitment to serving the membership, facility users and all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
- Use various systems (Avocado, Dayforce, Netsuite) to prepare childcare reporting for various levels of government.
- Prepare Program and Project Reporting
- Prepare month end general ledger entries in preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Ensure that monthly balances are reviewed and reconciled prior to the issuance of the monthly financial statements.
- Assist and work closely with Auditors on annual year-end audit.
- Keep financial records confidential and secure in a tidy and accessible fashion at all times
- Work closely with other business units to coordinate reporting needs.
- Work closely with other finance team members
- Adherence to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.

**JOB KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS**:
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
- Community college diploma and at least 3 years accounting experience
- Excellent knowledge of Office 365, specifically Excel skills
- Strong analytical and reporting experience and creating and manipulating reports from various system downloads.
- Excellent and collaborative interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of the necessity to keep information confidential and to meet the requirements of Privacy legislation

Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Mandated training is required before or shortly after commencement of work

**WHAT WE OFFER**:

- Compensation $44,000 (37.5 hour work week)
