**Key Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with the MNA FRP Leadership Team to co-design and implement a plan with families that reflects MNA values and creates opportunities for families to share perspectives, engage in designing solutions, and foster family capacity to become change agents for children.
- Ensure work strategies align with MNA FRP values and principles.
- Lead, advise, and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, catalyzing positive change and strategically allocating resources across programs and activities.
- Incorporate unique cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds of families into the program and community.
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly.
- Demonstrate leadership within the program by meeting timelines, and continuously improving the FRP operations.
- Collaborate with parent leaders, program staff, and community partners to develop and implement family engagement strategies, including individual activities and special events.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach staff of the Family Reunification Program and work closely with MNA FRP Leadership.
- Plan and conduct meetings with employees to establish standards, determine areas of improvement for employees, and provide additional training as needed.
- Assign and coordinate Family Preservation and Reunification Workers (FPRWs) to implement resident schedules, routines, workshops, and conduct daily in-suite inspections.
- Implement intake and family assessment procedures to identify family strengths.
- Promote culturally supportive service integration and opportunities for parents to participate in advocacy, parenting, and professional skills development.
- Report all pertinent disclosures to management, ensuring the safety and well-being of program residents.
- Perform administrative duties and maintain all documentation of the assigned families with the assistance of the FPRWs.
- Ensure common areas in the FRP facility and resident suites are maintained and kept clean to meet the requirements of the Residential Tenancies Act, including conducting a weekly inspection report.
- Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and policies to ensure safe and professional standards of practice.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with MNA policies.
- Maintain knowledge and utilization of the Child, Youth, and Family Enhancement Act.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

Resident Relations:

- Establish and implement a family partnership agreement (MNA FRP Support Plan), reviewing progress and adjusting strategies on an ongoing basis, as necessary.
- Conduct family engagement leadership convenings to ensure that all families can give and receive peer support in a safe environment.
- Build relationships with program residents and other agencies based on mutual respect and trust while remaining non-judgemental.
- Build rapport, provide support, complete support checks on families, and offer guidance when required.
- Mentor program residents and staff on healthy parenting, family routines, cooking, etc.
- Model positive responses to residents’ behaviour.
- Supervise program residents in recreational activities or other programs.
- Connect families to community resources, assets, and contacts, furthering their independence.
- Navigate effectively through crisis and violent situations.
- With the assistance of FPRWs, provide childcare support when required, using creativity to engage and mentor children.

- An in-depth understanding of the Métis Nation of Alberta and Métis culture, people, and values.
- Culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and compassionate with an ability to engage with community members in diverse settings.
- Knowledge and experience working with families who have experienced trauma, addictions, and emotional or mental challenges.
- Strong knowledge of applicable early child development and family engagement strategies.
- A strategic thinker and problem solver who can anticipate challenges, determine required outcomes, and use innovative approaches to develop a supportive relationship with residents.
- Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills, including an ability to efficiently respond to numerous demands, short deadlines, and complex and varied inquiries from staff, residents, and stakeholders.
