**Maderra Personnel is currently seeking two (3) qualified individuals for the position of Construction Management Representative.**

Located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Maderra provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors. **Responsibilities**:

- Review all NL Hydro internal documentation to familiarize with the content, this may include safety plans, risk registers, scope statements, etc;
- Review of all work plans, construction drawings and specification to familiarize with the scope of work prior to mobilizing to site;
- Participate in contractor scope and submittal review;
- Review of contractors health and safety plans, emergency response plans, and other safety procedures in order to ensure contractor implementation on site;
- Participate in pre-mobilization meetings were required;
- Act as the on-site representative and contact between the Owner and the contracted parties;
- Act as liaison between Operations, maintenance personnel, on-site safety personnel and the contractor(s) to ensure work execution and progression as required;
- Participate in, and lead, as required, daily tailboard safety talks with the Contractor;
- Monitor quality of workmanship and address any deficiencies;
- Monitor all on-site contractor activities to ensure all applicable health, safety and environmental requirements and legislation are being followed. Unsafe practices shall be brought to the attention of the contractor for resolution, and if serious, or if non compliance is persistent, the Project Manager shall be informed and/or a stop work order shall be communicated. Actively participate in Owner’s Safe Work Observation Program;
- Document daily work progress and any issues, on the Daily Progress Report form and forward this report to the Project Manager daily;
- Take pictures of work progress and forward to the Project Manager / Project Engineer regularly;
- Verify work crews have acceptable training and qualification records for the work;
- Direct and supervise contractor during construction to ensure the completion of specific tasks;
- Review Site Instructions, RFI’s, and documentation to ensure work is being performed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications;
- Monitor and inspection of all materials delivered to site for quality, completeness and correctness prior to installation. Material defects to be noted and disclosed to the contractor for resolution;
- Monitor and report on all on-site contractor activities to ensure the schedule and technical requirements of the contract specifications are met. In conjunction with the contractor, Project Engineer, and Project Manager, discuss and resolve on-site schedule and technical issues as they arise;
- Participate with the contractor in order to obtain an understanding of the reasons for, and the cost/schedule impact of, any such proposed changes;
- Participate in site safety tours;
- Participate in commissioning and site acceptance testing, as required;
- Coordination of Contractor on site resources, arranging for any on site orientations and site security pass access for contractor personnel as required;
- Coordination of on-site third party support resources required for the work;
- Monitor and ensure on-site Contractor personnel have required safety and trade certifications necessary for the work;
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Operations group for any required service outages between the contractor and operations to complete the scope of work;
- Inform Project Manager of changes to contractor’s people, process, materials and/or equipment and ensure all risks are mitigated or managed accordingly;
- Forward all proposed contract scope changes to the Project Manager / Project Engineer for prior approval;
- Maintain all necessary field documentation - e.g. discussion with contractors and operations, site activities such as significant deliveries or equipment or material, tailboard Safety Talks, and incidents;
- Ensure effective communication and coordination of work with other contractors on site and/or applicable representatives to ensure safe working conditions are provided for all workers; and
- Notify affected parties of the duration, nature and location of work being performed as well as the hazard(s) created by work activities.
- Note that CMR may also be delegated various other various tasks by the Project Manager or Project Engineer, as required and relevant to support project execution, throughout the course of the work.
