**Position Description**:
As a Patient Information Clerk in the Nephrology clinic, you will frequently be the first point of contact when patients and families arrive to register for their appointment. You will provide service in a customer-focused manner. You will facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to patient cluster staff and patients/families. You will also support the operation of the team/department by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive, organized manner.

**Here’s What You’ll Get To Do**
- Greet and register patients and families, and assist in meeting their needs when appropriate
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Organize and maintain patient charts, as well as electronic and paper information filing systems
- Coordinate clinic administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the clinic, within scope of authority
- Provide clerical support to all health care staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- Diploma from a recognized Medical Administration program
- Medical Terminology certificate
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred
- Experience with patient registration systems is required (Knowledge of Epic is an asset)
- Proficiency with computers (i.e., MS Office Suite, Outlook, MS Word)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to be self-directed, to be flexible and to take initiative
- Attention to detail and efficient time management
- Strong customer service orientation
