**Position Description**:
The Patient Information Clerk is frequently the first point of contact for patients and families in the Chronic and Transitional Pain Clinic.This position provides service in a customer-focused manner. The Patient Information Clerk will facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to the Chronic and Transitional Pain interdisciplinary team and patients/families. This position supports the operation of the team/clinic by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive, organized manner.

**Here's What You'll Get To Do**
- Welcome and register patients
- Coordinate and book clinic visits for interdisciplinary care team members
- Reschedule appointments as necessary and inform necessary people of these changes
- Provide clerical and administrative support to health care staff in the clinic
- Assist in meeting the needs of the patients and their families when appropriate
- Maintain an efficient and tidy work environment
- Identify issues and needs related to patient flow, administrative processes and technologies and collaborate with the information coordinator and other teams members to take the initiative and problem-solve.

**Here's What You'll Need**
- Diploma from a recognized Administrative/Secretarial program or equivalent work experience
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
- Basic proficiency with computers (i.e., MS Office Suite, Outlook, MS Word)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Ability be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative
- Attention to detail and efficient time management
- Strong customer service orientation
- EPIC training and patient registration experience are definite assets

**Employment Type**: Fulltime temporary
