Legal Assistant for a Jr. Associate

Our busy personal injury firm requires an experienced legal assistant to join our dedicated and friendly team to assist a junior associate build their practice in a fast paced, very busy, and growing personal injury firm.

Some of the job duties include:

- Both Tort and Accident Benefits tasks
- Maintaining lawyer’s calendar, including scheduling new client meetings, examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials and trials, preparation meetings, conference calls and assessments for clients
- General correspondence
- Preparation and service of tort documents, including Statements of Claim, Affidavit of Documents, Briefs: mediation, medical, pre-trial, and productions
- Filing of tort documents within the JSO Portal and Caselines
- Accident benefits tasks: request productions, assist with completing various OCF forms, assist with preparing Briefs to submit to the LAT, submissions to the LAT
- Corresponding with clients
- Maintenance and organization of client files
- Posting of invoices and requisitioning of cheques

The person we are looking for must have civil litigation experience, preferably Personal Injury or Insurance Defence. They should be highly motivated, efficient, reliable, show initiative, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to work in a very fast paced environment with little instruction. Multi-tasking and time management skills are essential.

Competitive Salary depending upon experience and education.
