**About the role**:Under direction of the Director of Child and Youth Services and the immediate supervision of the Housing Coordinator or the Designate, the Case Worker will perform various tasks related to counselling reluctant/ court-ordered youth, administrative duties, after-hours monitoring and support, and general duties as directed.

Principal Duties

Work with clients that struggle with addictions, aggression, criminality and mental health issues

Must have knowledge of Housing First Principles, Collaborative Problem Solving model, and effective correctional interventions

Familiarity with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and other relevant legislation (e.g., Child and Family Service Act, Mental Health Act)

Competency in using criminogenic risk/need assessment instruments

Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the ADS program, operations, role/responsibility of the Coordinator, clinical supervisor, and supportive housing workers

Assisting youth with life skills such as cleaning and cooking

Maintain building safety and security

Must have knowledge of community programs and supports to assist clients

Record and report client information as required by bail/parole/probation orders

Collaboratively create case plans and safety plans for clients with clinical and client collaterals

Attend supervision meetings, team meetings and collateral meetings as required

Role model appropriate life skills, prosocial lifestyle and personal decision making

Other duties which may be identified from time to time by the Coordinator

**Education**
- University Degree/College Diploma in the social sciences
- Minimum 2 years working with counselling reluctant/justice-involved or unstably housed youth
- Willingness to be trained in required skill areas
- Language: Bilingual preferred (English/ French)

Knowledge and experience working with substance misuse abuse, and dependency
