**About the role**:Under direction of the Residential Coordinator, A Different Street Supportive Housing is designed to support young men who are at-risk of or have experienced homelessness, justice system involvement and/or housing instability. Young men entering this program require safe and affordable housing while working on personal goals with on-site supports consistent with building life skills, mental health, substance use, crisis management, and peer relationships. Living at A Different Street will provide them the opportunity to continue their ongoing work, to become positive contributors to their community, and lead a healthy lifestyle. As a Case Worker, you will be responsible for completing intakes and assessments, creating service plans, providing case management services and clinical interventions for an assigned caseload. The Case Worker will also ensure that shift tasks and objectives are completed, client needs are met and support front-line staff by providing indirect supervision and coaching. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary case management and clinical team.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a Case Management, Residential Counsellor or Team Lead role that supports clients with their justice-involvement, mental health, substance use, aggression/violence, independent living skills and more.
- Knowledge of Ontario Child Welfare System, including the Child and Youth Family Services Act.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Justice System and functions/roles of probation/ parole system as well as the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
- Knowledge of the Housing First framework and how it is applied.
- Experience using standardized tools for completing assessments and case plans.
- Experience leading the delivery/facilitation of groups and programs.
- Ability to coordinate all on-site program related functions through a trauma-responsive framework.
- Skills to motivate and hold team members accountable, and, in conjunction with the Residential Coordinator and Case Management Team, support staff implementation of program model, the on-site clinical model and its associated interventions.
- Supervising student placements on shift.
- A strong commitment to supporting all residents, as well as their families and natural supports in being a part of their transition plan.
- Excellent people skills to facilitate relationships with clients, colleagues, supervisors, program partners and community members.

- Be part of an on-call rotation shared between other staff members and the Residential Coordinator
- Work flexible hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Participate in meetings, supervision, and training as required
- Come with an ability to cope with challenging situations and clients where this is the potential for confrontation, aggression/violence and crisis.
- Engage in safety planning to create a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Exercise flexibility to accommodate fluctuating and varying program needs and schedules.
