2. As part of the career counselling process:

a. Conduct career counselling intake interviews/assessments to help determine individual career counselling needs and desired outcomes.
b. Administer and interpret standardized and non-standardized career assessments in a variety of areas such as interests, values, skills, aptitudes, personality, preferences, and career decision making styles.
c. Assist individuals in selecting post-secondary programs, Learner Pathways or training opportunities consistent with their identified career and/or life goals.
d. Assist individuals in accessing and understanding relevant labour market information to help make personal career and program decisions.
e. Assist individuals in creating and monitoring their career action plans. As part of the career action plan, assist individuals with identifying potential challenges to their career and program success. This would be followed by helping the individuals to problem solve ways of overcoming these potential challenges.
f. Assist individuals with monitoring and managing their anxiety around any career decision-making processes and tasks.
g. Keep confidential and up-to-date client records.
h. Refer and/or connect career counselling clients as needed to appropriate people and resources within Saskatchewan Polytechnic and within the larger community outside of Saskatchewan Polytechnic
3. As part of ongoing career counselling services development and improvement:

a. Assist in the development of in-person and virtual career-related workshops, seminars, and presentations.
b. Assist in the on-going development of both web and print based career counselling resources and communication material.
c. Keep up-to-date individual client statistics and workshop statistics using Excel, Microsoft Word and/or other electronic platforms. Assist in the writing of year end reports.
d. Assist in conducting career-based needs assessments for various stakeholders such as current students, alumni/graduates, and prospective students.
e. Evaluate and assess career counselling services and resources on an ongoing basis using evidence based best practices. From the evaluations, provide recommendations for changes to career counselling services and resources.
f. Explore and/or Engage In - applied research projects that can help strengthen the effectiveness of career counselling services and that can better help meet the needs of Sask Polytech registered students, alumni/graduates, and prospective students.
4. Additionally, career counsellors are expected to:

a. Build collaborative relationships within Saskatchewan Polytechnic and within the larger community.
b. Educate prospective students, registered students, alumni, our colleagues and other stakeholders on the nature and value of career counselling services at SKPOLY.
c. Participate in continuing education to keep up-to-date on career counselling and changes in education and the labour market (e.g., attend conferences and workshops, professional reading/research).
d. Maintain an ethical and professional standard of career counselling practice.
- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE**Specific Accountabilities**

**Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)**
- Master’s Degree with a supervised practicum in one of the following: Educational Psychology, Psychology, Counselling or Social Work. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Two years’ recent, relevant experience in career, mental health or educational counselling including intake assessments and psychometric instruments. Experience in post-secondary
