**About us**

The Cultivated B (TCB) is a highly innovative and science-driven biotechnology and bioengineering company from Germany, focusing on developing and manufacturing high-precision systems for cellular agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.

Our recently opened facility in Burlington, ON, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors, photobioreactors and advanced machineries for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated R&D center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.

**Position Overview**

As the HR Manager at The Cultivated B. Canada, you will help to shape our organization. Reporting to the VP Operations the HR Manager will undertake all aspects of human resources, this includes but is not limited to recruitment and selection, employee relations, labour relations, training and administrative duties, strategic support as well as promoting a positive company culture. You will have the opportunity to build an HR function from the ground up, and define the value that HR can offer this growing business.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Act as the primary contact for all managers and employees by defining HR policies, programs, and guidelines.
- Establish and lead the recruitment and hiring process
- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding programs
- Assist with payroll and payroll related records. Update and maintain employee information in HRIS systems.
- Manage and optimize employee benefits programs.
- Lead the organization of HR events and programs as needed to foster a great and positive company culture.
- Manage all leave of absence files including maternity, paternity and sick leaves and provide support and guidance to employees as needed.
- Partner with the VP Operations to support all projects which impact onboarding, performance management, development, employee engagement, retention, reward, and recognition.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations or business or a field related to the position.
- Professional certification (CHRP or other) or an advanced program in Human Resources is preferred
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in HR in a fast-paced environment with a growing company, ideally mid-size (production, biotech, life science or pharma environment is an asset)
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian HR and Employee/Labour relations legislation
- Demonstrated accuracy, the ability to prioritize, work independently and attention to detail are critical to success in this position.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong relationship-building and influencing capabilities with individuals at all levels
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
- Excellent English skills both written and oral; French is not required but considered as a plus
