The Corporate Policy and Services Branch of LSI is the Department’s primary link with the broader government. The Branch helps ensure the Department aligns with and adheres to, government policies, priorities, and processes, and in turn, supports government decision-making. The Professional Services Division within the Corporate Policy and Services Branch provides internal support to LSI in the areas of Facilities Management, Health and Safety, Business Continuity and Records Management.

The Project Leader is accountable for facilities management of 19 LSI offices and the Department’s health and safety program, supporting 500 staff. The Project Leader is responsible for office moves and renovations working collaboratively with internal and external partners, health and safety program development and delivery, budget monitoring, contract management, communications, reporting, and implementation of facilities and health and safety projects and project plans.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
Responsibilities include:

- Deliver departmental projects by delivering and providing direction and/or development of tactical program and project plans required for facilities and health and safety related projects by working within an established project management strategy.
- Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures. Other activities include promotion of programs, department correspondence and notifications on facilities and health and safety, advising on procurement, methodology selection for project delivery, creation and delivery of change management programs, and overseeing project resources.
- Represent LSI as a corporate Security Council member, Occupational Health and Safety Community of Practice member, and is an Ex-Officio member on the departments Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
- Monitor budgets, conducts analyses, and brings variances to the attention of senior colleagues while working within established budgeting and financial systems. Allocates resources to appropriate places to ensure project management capacity meets the requirements. Recommends action plans to address budget and/or operational business plan deviations as they occur throughout the fiscal year.
- Deliver on established outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with internal clients, contract service providers, and project team members while working within an established contract management plan.
- Working with senior colleagues to provide support in delivering internal communications through planning, development and delivery. This includes ongoing monitoring and reporting of projects.
- Oversees and supervises the project team at LSI, and is the lead liaison with other government departments for projects, to ensure project outcomes and deliverables are met while using project management best practices. Evaluates project performance successes and recommends solutions for improvements. Tracks outstanding items through to completion and provides input for solutions to issues or problems.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Bachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience in facilities management, health and safety program delivery and project management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
