Green Dome Islamic School is brand new independent, faith-based school, located at 4616-80 AVE NE, Calgary AB T3J 4B7. The school supports the learning and developmental needs of children of Muslim families as well as welcoming other students who are interested in an education program with Islamic values. Green Dome Islamic School strives for excellence in teaching and learning in an environment that welcomes all students, with an opportunity for those students who wish to take advantage of learning about Islamic culture, language and religion. The school program is based on the outcomes of the Alberta Program of Studies and the promotion and teaching of Islamic Studies, the Holy Qur’an and Arabic languages.

**Position**

Green Dome Islamic School is seeking to fill **two** permanent full-time **Assistant Principal **positions. The role of the Assistant Principal is to assist the Principal in providing inspired leadership for staff, students and parents. The Assistant Principal’s actions must align with the mission, vision, and values that permeate Green Dome Islamic School.

**Qualifications**
- An Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A Master’s Degree in an education related field of studies is preferred
- A minimum five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
- Previous school administration experience is an asset
- Possess or be eligible to achieve the Alberta Leadership Quality Standards Certificate
- Although adherence to the Islamic faith is an asset, it is not essential
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
- Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive school culture
- Assist the Principal to provide effective instructional leadership to school staff
- Work collaboratively the board, the school administration team, staff, students and the School Council to achieve the goals of the school
- Assist the Principal to effectively manage school operations and resources
- Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
- Teach courses that may be assigned by the Principal
