Cost Analyst

Our client in the Packaging Technology Industry is currently hiring for Cost Analyst to join the growing team. This position reports to the Finance Manager.

**Job Summary**

The Cost Analyst is a professional in the finance department responsible for collecting and analyzing financial data, estimating costs, and comparing budgets with actual expenses. He/she will monitor costs after significant changes in products or processes, helping organizations make informed decisions to ensure profitability and business success.

**Key responsibilities as a COST ANALYST**:

- Conduct detailed cost analysis on all aspects of our operations, including materials, labor, overhead, and other expenses.
- Prepare and analyze budget reports, ensuring they reflect accurate cost and revenue information.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and track actual costs against budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across different departments or projects.
- Evaluate financial feasibility for new product development or business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting methodologies and processes.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
- Generate ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required by management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost analysis and financial management.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Cost Analyst, Cost Accountant, or similar role and designation.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software **(e.g., Excel, ERP systems).**:

- Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) will be considered a plus.
