**AGENCY PROFILE**:
**JOB TITLE**: Communication and Strategy Coordinator Student

**SUMMARY**:

- $16/hour, 35 hours/week for 13 weeks
- Anticipated start date of June 4th

- Some work may be completed remotely with with remainder taking place on site at 29 Arthur St. Truro. Schedule to be agreed upon at time of hire based on operational requirements.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- The Executive Assistant (EA) student will provide support to the Executive Director and operations team at Haven House in areas such as office administration, philanthropy, records management, communications and stakeholder relations. The EA will be able to establish work priorities, effectively manage multiple projects in tandem with accurate time and task tracking. The EA will engage in public relations, data input, assist with event planning, and provide support when data and outcome based reports are required. They must be able to work within a team environment and independently with mínimal supervision.

**DUTIES**:

- Carry out administrative activities associated with the organization
- Coordinate and plan THOS’ participation in community events
- Assist committees with fundraising, planning of Annual General Meeting and preparation of Annual Report as needed
- Gather data and prepare periodic and special reports, for Board Meetings and grants
- Assist with data input and electronic records management
- Assist Programming Coordinator with Haven House programming
- Assist with planning and posting updates on social media accounts
- Other related duties as needed

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Familiarity with the HIFIS database is considered an asset
- Proven organizational, record keeping and accurate data input skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Effective and clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to establish work priorities to ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed

**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS**:

- Degree/Diploma in business administration, human/social services or related field considered an asset
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention/MANDT, ASSIST considered an asset

**INTERPERSONAL AND APPLIED SKILLS**:

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to and speaking with the public and clients we serve
- Dependable, conscientious, and empathetic, values align with those of the society
- Excellent organisational, time management and planning aptitude
- Knowledge and experience working with individuals experiencing housing insecurity, those struggling with substance use, trauma survivors, individuals with mental health challenges and or disabilities is considered an asset, but not required

- They will understand the importance of effective time management and be able to complete deadline-based projects under little supervision, with excellent attention to detail.
- They will be mindful of the need to track and record time spent on on specific tasks
- They will understand the importance of positive and professional interpersonal relationships with teammates, community members and stakeholders
- They will exercise sound judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information
- Have access to a quiet space and reliable internet when working remotely
- Applicants are required to be available to work a combination of daytime, evenings and weekend shifts
- Applicants will be required to work from both Haven House, 29 Arthur St. and remotely

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 13 weeks

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
