**Salary**: $30.49 to $31.53 per hour

Michener Services located in Red Deer, Alberta is directly run and operated by PDD (Direct Operations) to provide residential supports to 101 adults with developmental disabilities. Michener Service’s purpose comes directly from the Seniors, Community and Social services legislation. Michener’s values align with the Alberta Public Service vision and values of respect, accountability, integrity, and excellence reviewed with new hires at orientation and with staff during the performance agreement discussion with supervisors. Michener Service’s mission aligns with the Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program to help adult Albertans with developmental disabilities to be a part of their communities and live as independently as they can.

**Role Responsibilities**:
The incumbent will provide cover off support for Michener Services Central Stores. This involves processing Stores orders and providing timely delivery of materials, supplies and equipment to meet area/home needs. A daily routine may comprise of filling stores orders, labeling items for storage and transfer, overseeing moving of onsite items, transferring stock inside the Stores area (warehouse), assisting with stock-taking activities, and notifying supervisor of inventory levels.

In addition, the incumbent may be required to help the Michener Services Transportation coordinator with basic maintenance tasks for fleet and home vehicles, (e.g., oil changes, tire change overs, detailing, shuttling vans to service centers) as well as covering office duties such as vehicle booking administration.

**Qualifications**:
Some high school education plus one year experience in the managing and controlling inventory and stock levels for a variety of industries

**Equivalency**:
Additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of education on a one-for-one basis.

**Special Requirement**:
Valid Alberta Operator’s License for forklifts

**Assets**:

- Experience operating machinery for moving stock items.
- Previous forklift driver experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer skills (MS Word, Outlook).
- Preferably a basic knowledge of using an ERP system (a software program that tracks inventory).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed. Basic working knowledge of automotive parts and service is preferred.Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
