**Position Description**:
**SUMMARY**:
The Clinical Supervisor Coast is responsible for direct clinical supervision of Clinical Staff within the COAST program. Duties include recruitment, retention, orientation, performance evaluation, and discipline of team members and students, and assisting with scheduling and training. In addition, the role is responsible to co-ordinate WHMIS / Occupational Health / Fire Safety for COAST and to provide oversight and supervision with crisis care for clients and families, and treatment planning as necessary.**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the clinical team who deliver client care including assisting the Manager with ongoing education requirements of staff, interviewing, hiring of new staff and orientation of staff to the service
- Assists the Manager with financial management of the service, team meetings and the setting of annual goals and objectives for the services with the team
- Responsible for performance evaluation, corrective guidance and staff discipline in consultation with the Manager
- Supports the Manager in attendance management initiatives, vacation scheduling and other initiatives as requested
- Identifies the training needs of the team as per regulated health care professional standards and requirements, industry best practices and through performance appraisal and other means; coordinates, plans, delivers and tracks education sessions, professional development and other training for the team with the Manager
- Liaises with community agencies through client referrals, meetings, working groups, presentations and training sessions
- Assists the Manager with quality and risk management audits and reporting, development of forms and collection and entering statistical data
- Ensures documentation is complete and charts are maintained according to COAST policy and accreditation standards
- Monitors client needs and community trends with the intention of developing improved service delivery, studies/researches and evaluates with the Manager and team
- On-call duty with Manager as is necessary
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor Degree in a Health related discipline. Master's Degree preferred.
- Membership and credentials maintained within their regulated Health Care Profession
- Minimum of five years clinical experience in crisis work/or similar related health field is required
- Crisis experience in dealing with individuals in crisis from a diverse population perspective in a Urban/Rural community is required
- Proven organizational and leadership skills with a minimum of one-year experience in staff supervision is required
- Courses in human resource management are an asset
- Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, problem solving, organizational and conflict resolution skills are essential
- Knowledge of quality and risk management, experience training staff and students, leading groups, presenting and report writing skills are definite assets
- Valid driver’s license
