Atripco is seeking a PM Team Lead to join our growing team. Reporting to the AM Supervisor and working from our client’s site located in Oakville, this hands-on role will oversee a team of heavy truck drivers to ensure effective and efficient operations for a dedicated contract. As a leader, your strong leadership skills, transportation logistics, and sound business-based decision making will ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
**What you will be doing**:
Developing drivers, maintaining fleet equipment, and ensuring on time deliveries, all with an awareness of controlling associated costs will be the basis of this role. This role provides coverage between 11:00PM to 8:00AM, or as needed to respond to business needs.
**Customer Interaction**
- Manage and adjust driver work schedules as required to ensure optimum service.
- Establish a good working relationship with the customers on-site operations staff and management - focusing on top-notch customer service.
- Be available to meet with the customer’s operations staff at their request and respond to their requests.
**Maintenance and Documentation**
- Complete and submit accurate daily summary reports and oversee assigned equipment with regards to proper care, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure driver paperwork, and/or Isaac usage is accurate and up to date.
- Oversee fleet servicing contract and work in conjunction with Fleet Safety Coordinator to ensure maintenance schedule(s) are adhered to; including but not limited to, regular day to day maintenance requirements.
- Perform regular monthly spot checks on drivers from time to time and report and address findings.
**Driver Performance Management and Operations Support**
- Continuously evaluate the performance of each driver including annual and 90-day performance review completion and enforce disciplinary action as required in conjunction with human resources and manager.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly reports and ensure drivers complete all their paperwork accurately and timely.
- Assist with the hiring of new drivers, conducting onboarding/orientation, and ongoing training.
- Develop driver’s potential through regular coaching and open communication.
- Responsible for ensuring driver hours are submitted accurately and timely to payroll.
- Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner and be available to provide backup route coverage as required.
- Overseeing day-to-day planning, problem solving and operation.
- Ensure all requirements of the health and safety program are adhered to including but not limited to providing general and job specific health and safety training, managing day to day adherence to policies, participating in regular inspections, participating in investigations as required, completing documents as required.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations as needed and produce documentation timely for filing.
- Work harmoniously with other departments as required to facilitate sharing resources and back up support for one another and participate in other corporate functions as required by the business from time-to-time.
**What we are looking for**:
- **Valid and current AZ license AND 2 years of recent AZ driving experience.**:
- Working knowledge of Ministry of Transportation policy and procedures.
- 2 years of planning and scheduling experience
- Experience leading and managing a diverse team.
- Experience in a 24 x 7 operation, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong customer service skills coupled with solid communication skills.
- Ability to resolve issues/conflicts and provide a solution.
- Self-starter, multi-tasker, organized, and works productively unsupervised.
- Flexibility with schedule and work hours to support peak periods.
- Proficient in MS Office (Teams, Excel, Word) and knowledge of Google Maps.
- Schedule: 11:00PM start, but may be required to respond outside of regular working schedule hours as required.
